about heber city limits

Hi! I’m Alicia. I’m a singer-songwriter and touring folk musician. I’ve performed at venues across the country, and some of my absolute favorite shows I’ve ever played were House Concerts. After playing in people’s living rooms and backyards for small but passionate audiences, I came home to find the Wasatch Back was missing out on this concept. I was determined to pay forward the kindnesses of hosts who helped me launch my career. I wanted to create a space for music community in my hometown and thus Heber City Limits was born.

What is a house concert?

Unlike traditional concerts where the focus might be on socializing or background noise, a house concert is a listening room—an environment where the music is meant to be experienced and appreciated with undivided attention. You'll find yourself surrounded by fellow music enthusiasts, all eager to soak in the sounds of talented artists up close and personal. Please be respectful of your neighbors and the performers.

This year, we’re introducing a free ticketing system to help us stay in touch with guests and better plan for each show. Tickets are free and reserve your spot. When you arrive, we’ll invite you to contribute a suggested donation to the artist.

Heber City Limits house concerts run on a “suggested donation” model. These donations go entirely to the artists to support their work—none of it goes to the host. It’s our way of making sure musicians are compensated and appreciated for sharing their songs.

some things to know

  • Please reserve a free ticket for each show you plan to attend. It helps me know how many folks to expect—and honestly, I like to know who I’m sharing my home address with.

  • Bring a chair. I have extras if you don’t have one or if you forget.

  • Don’t park like an A-hole. Please be respectful of my neighbors’ driveways and homes. There is ample street parking next to the park half a block away.

  • Cash or Venmo are king. Some artists accept credit cards, but cash and Venmo are safe bets. Don’t forget to bring a little extra for sweet merch.

FAQs

Do I need a ticket to attend?

Yes—please reserve a free ticket in advance for any show you plan to attend. The ticket acts as your RSVP, and once reserved, you’ll receive the house concert address via email. Tickets are free, and we’ll invite you to make a suggested donation to the artist at the show.

What if I change my plans?

No worries—plans change! If you’ve reserved a ticket and can no longer attend, just reply to your confirmation email or shoot us a quick message. This helps us open up your spot for someone else on the waitlist.

can i bring my fur children?

Please leave your fur babies at home. We have 3 fantastic dogs at the venue: Patty, Arnie and Kai who are easily bribed with ear scratches.

can i bring my human children?

All shows are all-ages friendly, however, there’s a lot of sitting still involved. We ask for a quiet and attentive listening environment. If your progeny is into that kind of thing, they’re welcome to join.

what if it rains?

We have a backup location on deck in case of adverse weather. We’ll try to make the call by 5:00 day of show so we can move locations and get setup. Sign up for text alerts to stay up date.

can i talk loudly through the performance?

NO! There is time to socialize before the performance, during a mid-show break, and late into the evening around the fire afterwards.

Will there be food?

I always make something to share. Please help yourself to the buffet table. You’re welcome to bring a dish if you feel inclined, but it is not required. You are also welcome to bring your own personal picnic - you don’t have to share if you don’t want to.

what about adult beverages?

This is a BYOB situation. Please bring whatever you’d like to imbibe. We will have a community cooler going if you bring anything to share. We’ll have water available, so don’t forget to hydrate.
